Transfer Gossip:
In-form Spain striker David Villa, locked in a three-way £25million battle between Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona all looking to sign him - he has hinted that he would love to join Liverpool.
Over-rated Gareth Barry proposed transfer to Liverpool moved that wee bit closer last night after it emerged plans to hold a testimonial for him at Aston Villa had been dumped.
Loyal to the cause is not David Bentley who insists he wants to quit Blackburn this summer - whoever they appoint as boss.
Sunderland manager Roy Keane is ready to stage an audacious summer bid to snatch my SPL player of the season Aiden McGeady from Celtic. Inter Milan have been linked with a move for Arsenal and Holland always injured striker Robin van Persie.

Who writes this stuff? Gareth Barry over rated? David Bentley disloyal?

Gareth Barry is one of the top 5 midfielders in the Prem. He can't go any further with Villa so he wants to step up for a new challenge in the Champions League. Him and Gerard would make a great midfield partnership.

As for David Bentley, he is similar to Barry in that he has given 110% for Blackburn over the past few years but, without disrespecting Blackburn, he is too good to be at the club and he deserves to be at a bigger club.

I agree with the PG in this one, most English players are over rated i.e Brit media (Bridge, Bently, Defoe, Barry, J Cole to name but a few) - sounds like this guy reads too much Sun's and Stars mate!!

Over rated?

Bridge - Possibly, although he is a good LB.

Bentley - No way is he over rated. Quality right sided midfielder.

Defoe - Probably the most over rated striker in England, along with Michael Owen!

Barry - No. Not over rated at all.

J. Cole - Again, possibly, but he is a very good footballer.

My interpretations of over rated footballers is, Defoe, Owen, Van Persie, Rooney, Malouda, Ballack, Terry (probably the most over rated player in the world!), Aaron Lennon, Jermaine Jenas....
