karlson good start -1...got him at 66/1 and did him to be top european at 16/1/looking good but early days


good tipping lads.did not know he had dinished in top 5 in his last 4 tournaments

Appleby even better. -2 after first round. I got 80's and he's as low as 16's now!!

Karlsson is without doubt the best European player at this present time but if you look back at his stats he has lead or been in contention in a lot of tournaments but has choked. They don't come much bigger than the US Open so I can't see him changing that!!

"choked" he is second on the european money list and 3rd on the european ryder cup team list.
a money making machine this season... not bad for a choker!!

appleby on the other hand had played 13 times this year on the u.s tour and has not had a top 4 finish yet.thats why the smart each way money is on Karlsson.You see when you are betting on golf the golden rule is to go with the in form players who are a good price not because you like their name.

This is what Kieren Fallon had to say about his tip today.....

HERITAGE COAST 4.55 @ Sandown

A really nice filly who has been crying out for this drop in trip ever since her hanicap debut at Windsor back in April. She ran a cracking race there, probably just needing the run.
All the lads in the yard tell me she is worth a chance in 4.55 Sandown today.

its a marathon not a sprint!

golf is played over 4 days.

karlsson will finish ahead of Appleby.better form going into the tournament/more confidence and a better scoring average not to mention his 4 top 3 finishes in his last 4 tournaments where as Appleby cannot string 4 good rounds together.his fellow countryman robery Allenby has a better chance.

Previous form is only a part of the equation when it comes to any Major but especially the US Open. Karlsson has been in excellent form and, as I said before, he is without doubt the best European player at present but I will bet you any money that Appleby finishes above Karlsson come Sunday!!

My name is Tom McBride, a 6 handicapper from Rockmount Golf Club. I know a lot about golf but not only in golf but in ANY sport, there is times when the form book goes out the window. What about when Barnsley beat Liverpool and Chelsea, what chance did the form books give Barnsley??
If you read my previous comment properly I didn't say previous form didn't mean anything but if you're backing Karlsson on that alone then your a biiger mug than I thought. If the form book is the only pointer the Tiger Woods should be winning this by shooting a -20 round with one arm behind his back but it doesn't work like that.

I guarantee you that Appleby finishes above Karlsson by the end of the tournament on Sunday.

Once again you haven't read my comment properly. Dyslexia is a common problem amongst adolecents so don't worry.

Scratch golfer eh. Lets start by having a small wager. You're on Karlsson and I'm on Appleby, whoever's player finishes best gets the £100. A tie means no bet.
Then after that I will be happy to play you at any course for whatever you want with you giving me 6 shots!!
